OUR TASK:Media team is a smaller part of the team that is responsible for data management and archiving. Pictures, videos and memories all come to us to be stored for later years or to be pulled up for use. Media’s biggest project is the web design competition that runs parallel to the main robotics competition. We design a new website annually and enter it into one of the regional competitions to be compared with teams from the area. In all modesty we have done very well in this competition in previous years, winning the Boston regional best website award in 2006 and 2008 and the Excellence award in 2006, ’07 and '08. In addition to the website awards media team promotes our team by contacting the local media and talking about our activities. As on all our subteams, we serve as both a building team and a teaching team. We work hard to teach new members about web programming using HTML, PHP and other coding languages. Many of our members graduate after two or three years, so it is important to pass on as much of their knowledge as possible so we keep the team at its best as the years go by. |
