Who we are:

Blue Lightning is a FIRST robotics team based at Fairport High School. Our team currently consists of more than 50 students. We started in the FIRST program 13 years ago, 1997.

March 6th, 2010- Team 578 advances to Semi-Finals at Finger Lakes Regional!

March 6th, 2010- Congratulations to team member, Carly, for becoming a finalist for Dean's list award.

About FIRST:

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a program that encourages students to pursue math, science, and engineering careers. Students learn from professional mentors and develop life skills such as self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Students have six weeks to design, build, and program a robot. Other students create 3D animations, build a website, and create thousands of buttons to trade with other teams at competitions. Regionals take place across the country, culminating in the international finals in Atlanta, Georgia.
